David and I travelled to Moab with my mother in 2015. In July. OOOOOOOOOoofffff. I suspect you had much better temperatures to hike around. I have a vague memory of all the daredevil adventures offered around there, too.
Mom is the one who wanted to go and since we were at her place for a week, we hit the road. We were out the next year in August and when her 79th birthday rolled around, we went to Rifle CO and rode a jet boat. She's slowed down a bit in recent years; we mostly hung around the house when we were out there this past summer.
Salt Lake has an amazing airport approach between ridge lines. It’s also where I had my first buffalo burger. Hello from chilly Massachusetts where we are attending to family. And our RV is still broken so I am living vicariously through you before cooking yet another meal for the toddler set. Camp on!

July in Moab sounds brutal! But nice to have taken your mom there.

So fun to hear about your adventures!

Here's to a buffalo burger! One of the most delicious things I have ever eaten was a buffalo ribeye.
