We've been on the road for two months. High temperatures and wildfires keep changing our plans. The photo is from White Sulfur Springs, Montana when the first wildfire smoke poured across the horizon. The temperatures in general have been very high so we detoured north to Canada. We’re now in Calgary and can't even see the Rockies. Just heard that Jasper NP has been evacuated. I guess we'll head east instead.
How are the high temps and wildfires affecting you?
In early July, When we were in Alaska near Anchorage, we heard that the national park around Denali was evacuated due to fire. There was smoke in the air stinging my eyes.
Yes, it's a big place. Too bad you won't be coming North...the best little country fair anywhere starts tomorrow. I just finished decorating my driving cart for the parade tomorriw

Sorry to hear that Denali is affected too!
We're now getting this smoke in Western New York. The environment transcends national boundaries. jim evinger
We just crossed into Montana again -- and yep, still smoky!
Time to visit your northern California family. Temps in Oakland are in the 60s and 70s during the day and 50s at night. Almost. All. the. Time.
That sounds heavenly!
Here in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan we have added a fifth season to the year.....Smoke Season.
I looked up your hometown since we were in Alberta -- we were still hundreds of miles apart. Enjoy your summer!
